or type of business listed in our directory. Use the Name
Search tool if you are looking for a particular business.
If you are looking for a type of business, use the Category
Search tool. Visit us often for new Enhanced and Basic business
listings.
Name Search allows you to find a particular business by name
and state. In the Name Search box, do the following:
a. Enter all or part of the name of the company.
b. Select the State from the pull-down and then click 'Go.'
If you are looking for "John Smith & Sons Plumbing
Inc," enter the full name of the company, or part of
the name, for example, "John Smith Plumbing"
Enter complete words and be specific for best results. Search
results will include business listings that contain the words
that you enter in the 'name' field.
State information is required. For example, if you think
that "John Smith & Sons Plumbing Inc" has an
office located in Texas, select 'TX' in the pull-down.
Category Search allows you to find a business based on the
type of product or service you are looking for. You can search
on a business category based on city and state location, or
based on a geographic location determined by ZIP code: In
the 'Category Search' box, do the following:
a. Click on the business category you want to search.
b. In the pop-up window, for best results enter your 5-digit
ZIP code, and then click 'Go.'
City and State Search: Both city and state information
is required. Do not use abbreviations.
ZIP Code Search: To find a business within a particular
ZIP code or geographic area, enter a 5-digit ZIP code. The
search engine looks for records with addresses within a 50-mile
radius of the geographical center of the entered ZIP code.
The number of listings that will display in a search based
on ZIP code is limited to 40. If you are searching for a type
of business in a city or suburban area area, a ZIP code search
will produce listings of businesses located within a radius
much less than 50 miles, even less than one mile (except businesses
located within a 50 mile radius that have purchased an Enhanced
Listing will be included in the search results). If you live
in a rural area, a ZIP code search will produce listings of
businesses located in a broader geographic area, but no further
than 50-miles from the geographical center of the entered
ZIP code.
For Best results use Category Search and search by ZIP code.
Name Search: Search results include listings that
contain all of the words that you entered in the 'name' field.
If there are no matching listings, or the listings do not
include the particular business searched for: (1) Check the
spelling of the words entered; (2) Try searching on another
state.
Category Search by City and State: Listings are in
alphabetical order by company name. If there are no matching
listings: (1) Check the spelling of the city name; (2) Enter
the name of another city the business may be located in; (3) Try another category; (4) Try searching another state; (5) Try a ZIP code search.
Listings of businesses that have purchased an Enhanced Listing
will display at or near the top of search results in alphabetical
order; listings of businesses with only basic information
(company name, address, and telephone number) are listed in
alphabetical order below Enhanced Listings.
Category Search by ZIP Code: Listings are sorted based
upon the distance of the business' address from the geographical
center of the entered ZIP code, in the order of distance,
in other words, from closest to farthest away. Listings of
businesses that have purchased an Enhanced Listing will appear
at or near the top of search results, even though such businesses
may be located further than businesses with Basic Listings.
Aquacosm listings (identified with the blue "A" icon) with
ZIP code information matching the ZIP code searched on, will
appear at the top of listings as "O [Zero] miles away."
The number of listings that will be display in a ZIP code
search is limited to 40, Enhanced Listings within 50 miles,
followed by the closest Basic Listings up to 50 miles away.
Example:
If there are 40 Basic Listings within a 10-mile
radius, and 3 Enhanced Listings within 50 miles, 37 Basic
Listings and 3 Enhanced Listings are included in the search
results.
Example:
If there are 30 listed businesses within a 50-mile radius
all 30 listings are included in the search results.
Example:
If there are 60 listed businesses within an approximate
radius of 50 miles, only Enhanced Listings plus the closest
Basic Listings not to exceed 40 total, will be included
in the search results.
If your ZIP code search does not result in listings: (1) Try another
ZIP code in your area; (2) Search by City and State; (3) Try another category.
A Basic Listing includes the company name, address (without
ZIP code) and telephone number. Unless indicated otherwise,
a Basic Listing is licensed data. A business that modifies
or adds Basic Listing information through our site is identified
in search results with the blue "A" icon. There
is no cost for a Basic Listing in our directory.
A business that purchases an Enhanced Listing receives a
Web page within Aquacosm.com and "preferred placement"
at or near the top of search results. Enhanced business listings
are displayed above Basic Listings; and, in addition to being
identified with the blue "A" icon, the listing is
highlighted in yellow and linked to the member's Web page.
To view a member's Web page, click on the name of the company
in the yellow highlighted area. If you would like more information
about the business, its services or products, you can contact
the business using the contact information displayed on the
Web page. You can also:
 Visit the member's Web site by clicking on the WWW
address displayed by the member on its Web page.
 Send e-mail with an inquiry or request for more information
by clicking on the member's e-mail address @aquacosm.com.
